If you are unable to use our BMI calculator, or if you are interested in how BMI is calculated, this page has the mathematical BMI Formula.

English BMI Formula (Imperial)

BMI = (Weight in Pounds / (Height in inches x Height in inches)) x 703

Metric BMI Formula

BMI = (Weight in Kilograms / (Height in Meters x Height in Meters))

Note that for children, you should check the BMI value on a BMI-for-age percentiles growth chart, which compares the result with other children of the same age and sex to determine the BMI percentile.

For example, a BMI percentile of 60 means that the child's weight is higher than 60% of all children of the same age and gender.

Now that you know your BMI, you can determine if you're at risk for BMI related disease.
